330 ml capped bottle, 61 kcal / 100 ml. Poured an unfiltered and murky reddish copper coloured Smoked Ale with a generous two fingers very fine, creamy and off-white foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles.
Sustained carbonation. Good lacing.
The aroma is pale and faint smoked malts, a caramel touch, bready and woody tones.
The flavour is yeast, sweety and smoked malts, honey, floral and flowery hops, ashes.
The mouthfeel is quite fulled, creamy, sparkling and light bitter. The texture is oily. The feeling is less alcoholic than the announced 8 % ABV.
This medium to full bodied Smoked Ale has a dry malty and light smokey finish ; in the aftertaste tea leaves.
This Smokey Li is brewed in West Vlaanderen by the Vliegende Paard Brouwers. If well balanced, between the smokey and sweety side, Smokey Li isn't exactly " my cup of tea ".
