330 ml long neck & capped bottle, 40 IBU. Poured in the original Pöhjala tumbler a totally black coloured I P with a one finger fine, dense, creamy and tan foamy head that had a mid-sized retention and tons of micro bubbles.
Soft carbonation. Poor lacing.
The aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffeish notes, toffee, spicy, vanilla, licorice, on the background an alcoholic feel.
The flavour is strong roasted malts, dark bitter chocolate, cocoa, burned coffee beans, toffee and spicy, vanilla, licorice and a chilli spot.
The moutfeel is fulled, creamy, velvety and smooth. The texture is oily.
This full bodied Imperial Porter has a bitter chocolate and coffeish finish and a moderate warming,, alcoholic, continuation.
This Jöuluöö Imperial Porter is brewed in Tallinn, Estonia by the Pöhjala brewery. It' a heavy, flavourful, rich, complex and tasty Imperial Porter, for short a convincing Imperial Porter from the Baltics.

Das Põhjala Jõuluöö ist ein Imperial Porter mit 8% ABV. Gelagert auf Kakao Nibs, frischen Vanille Schoten und Chips von französischem Eichenfässern. Pechschwarz und vollkommen blickdicht ohne jeden Schaum. Es riecht intensiv nach Lakritz und Rumtopf. Es schmeckt auch nach Lakritz, zum Glück nicht allzu intensiv. Dazu kommen Aromen von Rumtopf, Vanille vom Eichenfass und den Vanilleschoten. Die Kakao Nibs schmecke ich gar nicht, die dienen nur als Unterbau und vom Kakaoöl wird der Schaum komplett zerstört. Die Textur ist weich und samtig, das kommt von der geringen Spundung und wahrscheinlich auch vom Kakaoöl. Ich tendiere zwischen 7 und 8, weil ich den Lakritz Geschmack nicht mag, gibt es eine ganz knappe 8.
