Firstly, I note that a beer called Festweisse has already been reviewed on this site however the beer I have here is clearly labelled Oktoberfest - most likely its the same beer, but you can never be sure.The initial aroma was strong and invoked memories of sweet bubblegum although once fully poured, this disappeared. In the glass, there was a certain haziness as expected but its appearance seemed a little weak, somewhere between a Weizen and a Kristall.On tasting, there was a fairly smooth and full body to this however the taste was not pleasant.It was not so bad to be undrinkable, I suppose few drinks are once you've bought them, but there was a very ‘tinny’ flavour with no hint of a wheat beer character such as banana fruit or clove.The flavour failed to develop or improve on the finish and became quite industrial with a slight bitter end, this bit was ok but doesn't suit the style - it is hard to describe the lack of flavour beyond its hard and slightly metallic taste.I didn’t expect much from erdinger but especially for their festbier, this is not great.Buy if there is nothing else, otherwise give it a miss.
