330 ml long neck & capped bottle. Poured in the original Thiriez stemmed glass an unfiltered, murky and orange-golden-amber coloured Impériale Saison with a two fingers fine, soapy and off-white foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles.
Soft carbonation. A lot of floating sediments in powder form. Great lacing.
The aroma is a smooth and deep spicy feel, pepper, on a pale sweety and roasted malts base, earthy and herbal tones, thyme, tea leaves.
The flavour is a sweety malts basis, a crafty, not aggressive, spicy invasion, pepper overwhelming and cardamon, earthy and herbal hops. ( This Saison is blend of 3 cereals, 3 hops and 3 peppers - black / Malabar / India - white / Kampot / Kambodga - wild - Voantsy / Madagascar ).
The mouthfeel is full bodied, sweety, spicy and a bit sticky. The texture is oily.
This full bodied Impériale Saison has a no end spicy, peppery, finish and a vigourous warming continuation.
This Pepper Trip from the French Flandrian Brewery Thiriez,in Esquelbecq, Dépt. Nord, if no so well balanced because of the spices, offered a bewitching tasting, mixing sweety malts and crafty spices. A great moment . Thanks to Daniel, the headbrewer for presenting this unforgettable trip, more than the try worth, a " must " and a logical consequence, for me, a favourite.
