330 ml long neck & capped bottle, 46 IBU. Poured in the original Sori goblet a clear and dark, dark-brown, close to black, coloured B W with a short half a finger fine and beige foamy head that had a long retention and many micro bubbles.
Soft carbonation. Poor lacing.
The aroma is powerful malty, caramel, dark fruits, grapes, plums and, well present, woody notes, Cognac barrels.
The flavour is sweety malts, caramel, honey, candy sugar, dark fruits, berries, grapes, dried fruits, raisins, wood, and spicy, vanilla, licorice.
The mouthfeel is fulled, sweety, syrupy, a bit sticky and incredibily smooth. The texture is oily.
This full bodied Barley Wine has a long caramel sweety, fruity and wood barrel finish. No success in the hunt to the more than honourable 11,2 % ABV, they are too well hidden. The expected warming continuation is a lazy one, coming late but intense and bringing long mintes of good fortune.
Anniversary 2018 Cognac Ba is brewed in Tallinn, Estonia, by Sori Brewing. It offers an inviting nose, a rich flavoured palate and a lovely warming finish, for short a highly convincing Barley Wine from a young brewery. Chapeau !
