90% Rezension zum du Pays Flamand - Anosteké - Brune von JPB-76
750 ml capped bottle, purchased at the brewery. Poured in the original Anosteké stemmed glass an unfiltered, opaque and dark-dark-dark-brown, close to black, coloured I S with a one finger fine, creamy and tan foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles.
Soft carbonation. Good lacing.
The aroma is bitter roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, pronounced herbal hops and spicy, vanilla, licorice.
The flavour is heavy roasted and burnt malts, caramel, dark bitter chocolate, roasted coffee beans, herbal hops, fruity, dark sourish berries, marzipan.
The mouthfeel is fulled, creamy, thick, strong bitter and a bit sticky. The texture is oily.
This full bodied Imperial Stout has a long coffeish and bitter finish.
This Anosteké Brune is brewed in the French département Nord by la Brasserie du Pays Flamand. It's a characterful, robust French Imperial Stout, well flavoured and with a well hidden alcohol, for short a convincing interpretation of a beer style coming from over the Channel.
