500 ml capped bottle. Poured in the original Aecht Schlenkerla Willy becher an unfiltered, lightly murky and burgundy-brown coloured Rauchbier with a two fingers, fine, dense, creamy and beige foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles.
Sustained carbonation. Good lacing.
The aroma is powerful mild Rauch malts.
The flavour is sweety and mild Rauch malts, milk chocolate and dried fruits, nuts.
The mouthfeel is light crispy, quite fulled, creamy, velvety, Rauch and a bit sticky. The texture is oily.
This medium to full bodied Rauchbier has a long Rauch and sweety malts finish. The Rauch and sweety malts are very well blended together.
Brewed by the brewery Heller, in Bamberg, Upper Franconia, and better known as " Schlenkerla ", this Fastenbier offered all the tasting a not aggressive but well marked Rauch feel and an amazing velvety and smooth palate.
I would gladly dream a fast-time during all the year, Aecht Schlenkerla would be more than a pleasant and perfect every day beer, but it is brewed once a year and only available up Ash Wednesday until Easter. More than the try worth.
