500 ml capped bottle. Poured in an English pint glass a clear and dark ruby brown - mahogany coloured English Strong Ale with a one finger fine and beige foamy head that had a pillowy retention and tons of micro bubbles.
Soft carbonation. Great lacing.
The aroma is reach, roasted malts, a smoked feel, roasted coffee beans, fruity, riped bananas, herbal and resinous hops.
The flavour is roasted malts, powerful coffee beans, caramel, dark chocolate, hoppy bitter, fruity, grapes, plums, nuts, berries and a spicy touch, licorice
The mouthfeel is quite thick, prickly, velvety and very smooth. The texture is oily.
This medium bodied English Strong Ale has a complex finish, mixing roasted malts, bitter hops and fruits.
Brewed in North Yorkshire, England, by the Black Sheep Brewery, this Riggwelter is a characterful and moreish English Strong Ale.

Auf dem Etikett kommt die Erklärung für den Namen: "Wenn ein Schaf auf dem Rücken liegt und nicht mehr aus eigener Kraft aufstehen kann, dann sagt man im lokalen Dialekt, dass es "rigged" bzw. "riggwelted" ist."
Das Bier hat den World beer award UK 2016 gewonnen und wenn man es kostet versteht man warum.
Es ist eine feine Kombination an Röst- und Kakaoaromen und ist gleichzeitig interessant anders und trotzdem gut süffig.
